Sen. Larry Craig Returns to Senate

Sen. Larry Craig has returned to Washington and resumed his Senate duties.

Some shunned him, some were friendly. His hearing on his motion to withdraw his guilty plea is September 26.

Meanwhile, the bathroom where he was busted has now become a tourist attraction.

The one unfortunate thing about this (5.00 / 1) (#1)

is that the Democrats haven't offered to take him in, after his former Rethug buddies decided to pile on and do that "shunning" thing.

Y'know, I'd bet that if a good, liberal Democratic senator were to sit down with him and have a friendly chat over coffee or beer - even in a very indirect manner -  about how nice civil liberties are and how everyone needs them all the time (or even just to praise his fortitude for making the pending motion and staying on the job despite the calls to quit), it might be good for a vote every now and then.

Just to give Craig the opportunity to poke a pointed stick in the eyes of the Rethugs who treated him like trash to make a party-discipline spectacle out of him just before Magical Petraeus Month got its big kickoff.  They don't have to wind up friends or anything - just vote against the Rethugs.

They can honor their agenda to return to biblical times by greeting Senator Craig full bore with a measure to stone the adulterer.

And by full bore I of course mean Rush Limbaugh should do the decent thing and give Sen. Craig some recreational OxyContin to take the edge off his return, and someone in the lavishly appointed GOP closet can pass the Senator a Naya bottle filled with Absolut to wash it down.

No, I think they will leave that to the radical Moslems... You know who they are, right?

    You don't? Here's a hint.

They are the enemy in the war that Senator Reid surrendered to,
