Moscow: Women Suicide Bombers Kill Dozens at Metro

Women suicide bombers attacked two Metro subway stations in Moscow at rush hour this morning, killing at least 34 people and injuring many more.d

No group immediately took responsibility for the blasts, but suspicion is likely to fall on Chechen militants and other groups from Russia's North Caucasus, where Russia is fighting a growing Islamist insurgency.

In 2004, an attack on the Moscow Metro killed 39. President Vladmir Putin blamed Aslan Maskhadov, the fugitive Chechen rebel leader. In 2003, women suicide bombers July 5, 2003 - Two women suicide bombers killed 15 people at an open-air rock festival at Moscow's Tushino airfield.

    the Lubyanka Station of the Moscow Metro.

    For those who may have forgotten or never knew, in Soviet days, the Lubyanka was where the KGB was headquartered, as was one of the entry points into the Gulag.

    No accident, I suppose.

    Perhaps if enough governments across the political/religious spectrum get frustrated with the bombing of their citizens by terrorists, they might actually work together to deal with ALL of them, not just the ones opposed to themselves? Follow the money!

    Not necessarily.  Pipe bomb (IED?) on the roadside.

    Pipe bomb shuts down State Route 299

    California Highway Patrol Sgt. Mike Martinez said the motorist found a pipe bomb near the shoulder of the road around 9 a.m. and immediately called 911.

    Martinez said the bomb squad used its bomb-disposal robot to confirm it was a bomb before blowing it up on the side of the road.
