Shots Fired at Denver's 4/20 Marijuana Rally

The 4/20 marijuana celebration at Denver's Civic Center Park ended abruptly at around 4:40 pm when shots rang out and one or two people were injured. One appears to have been stabbed (photo here, name being withheld), so it's not clear if two people were shot, one was shot and one was stabbed, or some other scenario occurred. The shooting suspects are described as:

Police described the first suspect as a light complexioned black male, about 6-feet tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He was wearing a gray hoodie, black pants and a Carolina blue baseball cap. The second suspect was a black male in a checkered black and white shirt.

The Denver Post was there with its shiny new gigapan camera around 2:30 pm and took this photograph. It took me all of two minutes to find a black male in a checkered black and white shirt. A la Boston, police are asking people to submit their photos. [More...]

The police did not arrest anyone for smoking marijuana, even though Amendment 64 does not authorize public consumption of marijuana. Nor is Amendment 64 yet in effect.

The Denver Post has a website devoted to its gigapan photos called BigPix. It should warn people in advance when it will be used, so people who object to being photographed by the media can make an informed choice as to whether to attend an event.

But the website had two pop-up advertising windows. If I decide to get Netflix it won't be because of a pop-up.

that our 26-year-old daughter in Denver participated a 5K "fun run" today, instead of going to the 420 smoke-in?

Yes, yes, you did. What is this this obviously, devil-inspired "fun" you speak of? Or, is that what they're teaching in law school these days?

I can understand "fun" as in tossing orphans & grannies out of their homes and into the street, but, running?

Get real! It may be too late, but we can only hope that this gorgeous young lady gets her priorities straight real soon.

its a photo that can actually do the incredibly stupid thing TV and Movie cop/spy/etc shows are always do with the "zoom and enhance" b.s., I know this a serious topic but damn, that's amazing-- does anyone know the time lag involved the wiki doesn't mention it because this could be both amazing and scary (though I'd imagine the video memory requirements would essentially render using it for surveillance impossible, at least for a few more years).

    it was used at Obama's inauguration (5.00 / 1) (#6)
