    After reading (5.00 / 3) (#1)

apologists for Obama saying that he is only doing what has to be done to get elected but things will be different when he gets his second term...

    I have an idea:

Let's give another chance to Colin Powell.
    War hero.
Sure, he lied to the entire country.
But he had to do it.
He really doesn't believe what he said. Not really. Not deep down.

Let's elect him and give him a second chance.
He wouldn't lie to us again once he has nothing to lose.
    I'm sure of it.

    Good idea, (5.00 / 1) (#2)

A Colin Powell/George Tenet ticket. These guys looked good together during the UN speech and their election would be a slam dunk.  As for Obama apologists, today would probably have been a good day for them to engage the mute button or to at least come up with something more convincing than leadership would jeopardize Mississippi's six electoral votes.

than likely Obama will be more conservative in a second term than he has been if you go by Clinton. Outside of SCHIP, which was apparently more Hillary than Bill, there really wasn't much liberal legislation passed. Most of the liberal legislation got passed in Clinton's first term.

And for some odd reason, presidents tend to get into trouble in their second term so it's likely that something will erupt that could possibly make a Dem presidency in '16 impossible. But then a Dem presidency if Obama is reelected is unlikely in '16 anyway.

...Obama is simultaneously completely powerless and can't do anything and totally and solely responsible for anything good that happens.

in the CONCACAF final about to start.  Seems a flighty and very questionable move by BTD's favorite coach.  The pregame talking heads seem to be biting their lips on the decision.  Hope it pays off, cuz El Tri loves nothing more than knocking off Estados Unidos.

dos à dos going into the lockerroom, La Copa Ora de CONCACAF.

Home game for the Mexican squad, this one being played at Pasadena's Rose Bowl.  Maybe 10% of the crowd for the U.S. by the sound of it.

    Uh-oh -- now it's tres à dos, Mexico.

Mucho gracias to Univision for covering this one.  ESPN has two channels on cable, but baseball and drag racing take priority.

    Interesting take on the story.

    Entirely fictitious, ...

    ... but interesting.

you're reacting without reading the story, I suspect, and the follow-up.  Justice Bradley hardly was the weenie in this; read up on how she finally took a stance to stop the behaviors by Justice Prosser, a stance to which this may have been yet another reaction by a man with legendary lack of impulse control from his days as a legislator (see youtube).

So the state capitol police were called in, but Justice Bradley did not take it further from respect for the institution of the court, as is stated in the early versions of the story.  But follow the updates to see what has happened since.

but Justice Bradley did not take it further from respect for the institution of the court,

But it may be that like Weenie boy she did not want to file a false police report.  Time will tell.

Are you not curious as to how or why a 5'2" 68- year supposedly old put his hands around the neck in a choke hold on a bigger and younger Bradley  in a office full of people.

The fact of no police report makes this implausible scenario sound like BS.

    No police report? Says who? (5.00 / 2) (#23)
by Yman on Sun Jun 26, 2011 at 09:31:49 PM EST
The article specifically states that the Capitol Police chief was notified of the incident ... it does not say a police report wasn't filed.

Are you not curious as to how or why a 5'2" 68- year supposedly old put his hands around the neck in a choke hold on a bigger and younger Bradley  in a office full of people.

Yeah - because an angry man with a history of overreacting and intemperance would never put his hands on the neck of a woman slightly taller and younger than him.

    Heh.

Why did the judge stop the trial (none / 0) (#8)

    for today?
The media has all kinds of theories. No one knows.
Here is some of my thoughts.
       1. mistrial with prejudice : Did the FBI tamper with the photos of the duct tape? http://www.wftv.com/video/28281884/index.html  apox.7min into video  also the proffer hearing http://www.wftv.com/video/28338524/index.html
       2. Discovery violation :no phone record for Mr Clump or George Anthony turned over to the defense.
       3. Whatever it is it's a biggie. The judge promised the jury they would be done by the 4th of July. He's extended days, shorten lunch hours. The defense had witnesses ready to go.

It was a nice rainy day here and I was (none / 0) (#11)

Believe it or not, on the weekends on HLN Nancy Grace give a week review. She is not commentating,it's all trial testimony. It's pretty good.

Today I am watching the media. Not watching for facts, just spin.

If we tried, I bet we could name each of the participants at the Mad Hatter's tea party after the current crop of 2012 contenders - and, what the heck, we might as well put the current president at the table, too.
