Comey Memo Says Trump Asked Him to End Flynn Investigation - "President Trump asked the F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, to shut down the federal investigation into Mr. Trump's former national security adviser, Michael T. Flynn, in an Oval Office meeting in February, according to a memo that Mr. Comey wrote shortly after the meeting. 'I hope you can let this go,' the president told Mr. Comey, according to the memo. The existence of Mr. Trump's request is the clearest evidence that the president has tried to directly influence the Justice Department and F.B.I. investigation into links between Mr. Trump's associates and Russia."

Anyone who continues to defend this guy is obviously a big part of the problem, and should be treated accordingly.

Ironically, Cornell's death came only one day after the band had dismissed an earlier false report of his demise as a cruel internet hoax. Sadly, this morning's report appears to be for real, as it has since been confirmed by Cornell's representative Brian Bumbery and Detroit police.

Cornell's vocals were renowned for their 4-octave range. Here he is in two cameos from the 1992 Cameron Crowe film "Singles," a Gen. X romantic comedy set in Seattle during the height of grunge, which remains one of my guilty movie pleasures.

A jury late Wednesday acquitted a white Oklahoma police officer who says she fired out of fear last year when she killed an unarmed black man who had his hands above his head. The verdict led almost immediately to protests.

Was it only a coincidence that Kanter also so happens to be a prominent supporter of exiled Turkish cleric Fethullah Gulen, and an outspoken critic of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan? I think not.

This incident could've ended very badly for the young man, who's not been at all shy about sharing his opinion of Erdogan with the media, had he been sent by Romanian immigration officials to Turkey. Instead, having been barred from entering Romania, Kanter was eventually put on a flight to London. He's now on his way to the United States, where he'll hold a press conference in New York tomorrow.

As it stands, however, because President Erdogan is a vindictive man with a very thin skin, Kanter -- who actually lives in Zurich, Switzerland -- is now effectively a man without a country.

Given that we so often take for granted our own First Amendment right to free speech, let this be a timely reminder to us that it takes real courage and personal risk for many other people in the world to speak out against wrongdoing and injustice in their own countries. Enes Kanter deserves our admiration.
