    Howard had his own little mea culpa when he made this joke, "what did the co-pilot say to the pilot(Air Florida crash in DC in Jan 82) when they started losing altitude taking off from National Airport?"

    The punchline was "we'll cross that bridge when we get to it."

    This was days after a Air Florida jet hit the 14th St bridge in DC.

    People were still under the frozen Potomac.

    Howard was promoted to NYC after that.

    Anyone who makes you feel bad about your beliefs is a troll? How many Howard Stern posters are on your bedroom wall?

    Me personally, get upset with people when I know they're right. Then you think about it. That doesn't mean they're a troll,whatever that means?

    and nor should he be allowed to win w/any people for his bigotry and unwarranted ghetto journalistic remarks about the women, who so happen to be college students, with some degree of intellect that surely distinguishes them from so called "nappy headed hos" and the courage for daring to penetrate a male sport.

    To inform those of you who are uninformed of African-American history.  Nappy-headed is not a a hip-hop or uurban term.  It's not even in the Urban Dictionary.  "Nappy-headed" is a highly offensive racial term directed at Black women in particular.  I would hope in 2007 that Blacks are migrating away from the inferior complex of our wooly hair and authentic features. The advent and acceptance of locks and awareness of the economic impact of maintaining our hair in an organic/natural state has rapidly takin root.  Love my locks.

    Imus must go, he's stooped to an all time jounalistic low.  Using our 458B$ economic power is the best resolution to drive the nail in Imus' coffin.  He's become far to relaxed in his bigotry.  Imus is dead and stankin, just like Gonzales.  I don't care how much he "gives" to charity.  Is that supposed to excuse his bigotry?  Heaven forbid that we sell ourselves for nought...a few crumbs from the rich man's table.  

    Forget all the rhetoric and show boating, simply cut the purse strings to the networks' sponsors.  Make a few sacrifices.  No it is not acceptable for him to hide out behind being a comedian.  Who's laughing?  

    The sadness/madness of this fiasco is the media goes and dig up dinasoars Jesse and Al who are basically out of reach with the thinkings of the post CRM era African-American population.  They both are like loud sounding cymbals and most of us tune them out and just give them the respect due to the elders and CRM pioneers.  There's a new Black leadership arisen in America and they're singing a new song.

    I'm not one for a media lyching but "you people"?If that doesn't show he's a deep down racist what does?

    Why would you go on Sharpton anyway?   For practical reasons you know he's out to get you and to me that just prooves that your an even bigger racist because you think apologizing to Sharpton makes it all OK.

    What a poor confused man Imus is turning out to be.

    I've written several very critical posts of Imus here the past three days, and I continue to believe his comments are disgusting, but the "you people" one I'm in doubt about. There was a caller on the phone criticizing him when he said that.  His comment was directed to Sharpton and the caller.  I assumed "you people" meant his critics, not black people.  I could be wrong though.

    There's no giving him a benefit of the doubt on his prior comments, but that one I'm not sure it's fair to slam him on.  I am willing to be convinced however.

    But I posted these because one, Oliphant was simply insulting with his nonsense.

    And for Imus to go on Sharpton's show and say "you people" is, well, inexcusable.

    If he did not mean African-Americans it is more than reasonable to think he did.

    He needs to issue some more apologies.

    I say this as someone who say "you people" way too often. But I can not imagine saying then as Imus did.

    Crooks and Liars has the audio segment up. Maybe his meaning can be determined from listening to the way he said it.  I haven't had time to listen yet.

    I think you're trying to hard not to judge him.

    He's made too many poor comments in the past and as I've said in other threads if you believe Howard Stern he's always been a racist and it's just become more obvious.
