"Imus, My Man!"

Tom Oliphant, the whitest man on the planet, stands by his brother Imus:

Boston Globe columnist Tom Oliphant began his appearance on the April 9 edition of Imus in the Morning by stating: "Good morning, Mr. Imus, and solidarity forever, by the way." Oliphant also referred to political pundits like himself who appear on the show as Imus' "constituency."

Hahahahaha! White people are funny. h/t atrios.

What do you think about Al Sharpton's history and his elevation to his current lofty position?

This is what has me scratching my head through all this.

Al Sharpton, so don't try to give Imus cover using Sharpton as the scapegoat.  Sharpton is not one of my favorite leaders, but had he not taken the ball and ran with this canine it would have been swept under the rug.  Why did it take the networks a week to take action?  Because hound dog Sharpton was on case and they sat back in their executive chairs waiting to see how much stink would come out of it.

Sharpton's mouth this time has sweet smelling breath.

    wow, close to home, culturally.

no wonder you have the voice you have.

    as for rabbits,

    no,

    not cane fields,

    but mowing hay fields.

they all crowd into the center.

i just had no heart for hunting.

park the tractor and get off and scare them away from the blades.

Sugar Bowl of the South. In the late 60's I lived in South Bay. I'll never forget the giant flying roaches, among other things.

South Bay? Dude, we were neighbors.

So you knwo where I grew up and that it was not a "lily white suburb."

You've seen "Harvest of Shame" of course, right?

was by no stretch of the imagination a lily-white suburb (or a suburb of any kind). I was very well acquainted with Edward R. Murrow's "Harvest of Shame." So many years after that documentary, and so little has changed.

I wonder if Bean City is still there.

And don't hang your clothes outside when they're burning the cane.

no...  but I used to take a loaf of bread with me whenever I went hiking in order to distract the gators!

I sometimes turn nostalgic about the time I spent in the Glades. I don't miss the place. But I do miss the friends I had. Geez.

I didn't know you were so closely aligned with Schaller. In any case, I do vaguely remember your "Lincoln 1860" strategy, and I agree.

blow my mind. Of course you think you know what's going on.

But you don't live with the lower stata of society(white or black) and you don't work with them. You don't even drink with them.

Why do you think you grew up in the suburbs?

I remember getting a buzz on when I was a teenager and listening to Redd and Pryor records and just laughing my ass off and they goofed on white people all the time. Specifically white people.

You would think after 30 yrs we'd be better at this.
