    KY is a slippery slope.

NOT that the captain doesn't deserve a doubly good day... but.

This never happened to me before, and I do know how it happened.  There is a bug somewhere in the web page, or less likely the browser (Firefox in my case).  I posted my original comment, and then went on to the home page to view the next post, (which was a new post which might be a hint).  When I hit  back button from this new post to return to the home page the return took me to back to the page showing my reply, when it should have taken me to the home page and without thinking I hit post again.

KY governor will be called soon for Beshear.

    Cautiously optimistic that:

Gov Beshear will win in KY
Democrats will hold the state senate in VA
Democrats will flip or tie the state HOD in VA
Democrats will hold both houses in NJ state legislature
Issues 1 and 2 will pass by double digit margins in OH

in the election for two open seats on the Pennsylvania Superior Court, our statewide general appellate court. Or so it seems. Running as a two-person slate of one white (Jewish) woman and one Black woman, both well qualified, the Dems won both seats.  But the white candidate ran 140,000 votes (over 9%) better than the Black candidate, who beat out the top Republican (and thus third-place finisher) by only 40,000 votes, less than a 1% margin.

    In Pennsylvania big-city news (none / 0) (#26)
by Peter G on Wed Nov 08, 2023 at 10:14:06 AM EST
In Philadelphia, there is a 17-member city council, of whom 10 are elected by district and seven at-large citywide. Of the at-large, two seats are reserved in the City Charter for representatives of a minority party. Voter registration citywide is something like 6-1 Dem. For decades, the Council has had 5 at-large Democrats and 2 at-large Republicans. Last night, the two minority seats went to the "Working Families Party," a progressive group that opposes the Democratic Party machine and pressures the Dems from the Left. I think that leaves just one of 17 city councilpersons a Republican. Philadelphia also elected its first female mayor, a Black woman moderate Democrat.
In Pittsburgh, however, the incumbent District Attorney, running as a Republican, was re-elected over a Democratic "progressive D.A." candidate.

said and IMO he is 100% correct on this that nobody believes them. Look at all the conservative states with total bans. Look at DeSantis who campaigned on a 15 week ban and signed a near total ban. It's even in their party platform for a total ban. Why would anyone believe them?

Ohio Republicans Move to Weaken Abortion Amendment
November 10, 2023 at 2:46 pm EST By Taegan Goddard 129 Comments

"Several Republican lawmakers plan to fight the recently approved abortion rights amendment by trying to overthrow the judicial branch's authority to interpret it," the Columbus Dispatch reports.

"Ohio voters approved protections for abortion and other reproductive rights, 57-43%, Tuesday. Abortion rights advocates will soon head to court to repeal restrictions and bans on the procedure."

that republicans seem utterly unable to process what a disaster the Dobbs decision was for them.

The stupid enabling media helps make it worse.

Every pre election conversation included "will abortion rights STILL be an issue.  It's been a long time since Dobbs"

Like women will just stop getting pregnant.  Or maybe they will forget they can get pregnant.

I am thinking that the bad poll numbers are being influenced by Democrats who will not give full throated support to Biden due to his unequivocal support for the havoc Israel is bringing down on innocents in Gaza.  If enough Dems don't respond to these polls it could be the issue.

starting with who the F are they polling.  Also again with the stupid media reporting the actual facts are a problem.
For example that NYTimes poll that had everyone wringing their hands and wetting their beds included a question about if Trump were convicted of a felony would you still vote for him.
In ever single state polled the number dropped by an average of 6 points. (This has all been reported)

Which means Biden would win every state.  But I bet you didn't hear and bobblehead mention it.

More generally, who are they talking to.  In this info age who is going to answer an unknown number and sit and talk to them.
I'm thinking lonely bored old people.
